A mother and her three children were brought to Afshar Hospital’s Urgent Care after neighbors found them unconscious in their home. Sara and her children were in critical condition and Afshar Hospital’s urgent care team immediately began resuscitation efforts for this family. The medical team consisted of 3 doctors and 5 nurses who worked together on each family member.
Mother Sara was unconscious, had cold skin, low blood pressure, oxygen levels, rapid breathing, and was having seizures. The medical staff worked to open her airways and start high flow oxygen, IV fluids, steroids, antibiotics, and anti-convulsant. Within three hours her vital signs partially stabilized but she remained unconscious. After continued evaluation, doctors suspected that Sara had experienced neurological damage and needed further intensive care with a neurology specialist.
Sara’s three children were unconscious when admitted and were confused, lethargic, drowsy, and low oxygen levels. All three children had to have their airways cleared and started high-pressure oxygen with IV fluids. After a few hours of treatment, all three children showed improvement and were discharged from the hospital in good condition.
Afshar Hospital has provided health care and treatment services to hundreds of thousands of patients since it opened in 2009. The expert staff and quality equipment provide health care and treatment services with low or no fees. Luckily the medical treatment provided to Sara and her children was free of cost. Afshar Hospital reported this incident to government officials as a disastrous case to ensure further help to this struggling family.
