Mendota Youth Art Class at the AMOR Wellness Center

AMOR partnered with local Mendota parent group, Padres Unidos con Poder (Parents United with Power), to host 18 children for an art class at the AMOR Wellness Center. Children were guided by local artist and teacher, Jose Elias, through a step-by-step tutorial of how to draw and paint the beach. The finished paintings turned out beautiful!

Jose Elias teaches art at West Hills Community College and Raisin City Elementary School. He has also painted many murals at schools and other locations throughout the Central Valley. Jose will continue holding art classes from 2 – 4 p.m. every Tuesday at the AMOR Wellness Center.

One of AMOR’s goals is to provide support to our youth, we are so thrilled to provide a space where children can learn something new and express themselves artistically throughout the summer. We are looking forward to seeing more children at future classes!

Donor Opportunities

2025 Thanks for Giving with AMOR

Mendota’s farming families work tirelessly to put food on our tables, yet, as the harvest season ends, many struggle to secure food for their own families.

With your support, AMOR can provide 300 families with 60-pound boxes of nutritious food for a bountiful Thanksgiving.

Every $100 donation gives one family a complete Thanksgiving box.

Your gift, big or small, makes a direct impact.
