We are so proud to share that AMOR has vaccinated 2,045 essential farm workers against COVID-19 in Mendota, Kerman, and Firebaugh! We are so thankful for all the nurses and physicians from every Fresno hospital who helped us get shots into arms. We would also like to thank United Way Fresno and Madera Counties, Listos California, AmeriCorps and the California Farmworker Foundation for providing vaccine education, PPE, music and snacks. Lastly, we would like to thank the numerous volunteers from Pappas Family Farms, Holland Nut Company, Bar 20 Dairy, City of Firebaugh and Panoche Creek Packing for hosting vaccination events at their sites. We applaud all the organizations and volunteers who joined us in our efforts to vaccinate Fresno County’s 70,000 agriculture workers.
AMOR has been working over the past few months to do whatever we can to put an end to the spread of COVID-19 on the west side of Fresno County through vaccination. Many individuals who live and work in this area have little to no access to medical care and are also among the most at risk in our society. It is with the help from your contributions, and these volunteers, that we have successfully made a difference in our community.
