Excitement fills the air as Mendota welcomes a new addition to its vibrant community—a brand new Girl Scouts troop hosted at the AMOR Wellness Center. This launch represents a significant step forward in providing enriching experiences and opportunities for growth and leadership development to girls in grades K-12.
Recently, the new girl scouts and their parents embarked on a memorable field trip with their troop leader, Emily, to Fresno’s Gold Mine store, where AMOR’s Executive Director, Davena Witcher, generously provided each girl with their very own vest and troop patches. The excitement and joy on the girls’ faces during this field trip remind us of the transformative power of community partnerships and the positive impact they can have on the lives of young girls.
This partnership between AMOR and the Girl Scouts of Central California South is the culmination of years of collaboration and shared dedication to empowering youth. While the AMOR Wellness Center has been home to Girl Scouts offices and meeting spaces, the establishment of this new troop represents a significant step forward in our collective mission to foster leadership, confidence, and education among girls in rural communities.
We invite parents in Mendota and neighboring communities to enroll their daughters in this exciting opportunity. Girls in grades K-12 are welcome to join the troop and embark on a journey of friendship and fun.
