Crime Survivors for Safety & Justice (CSSJ), in partnership with Centro La Familia, hosted a screening of a short documentary, “We Are Survivors” at the AMOR Wellness Center. This film offered a glimpse into the personal life experiences of crime and violence survivors. CSSJ is a national organization of crime survivors working together to heal and to help each other by advocating at the state level for change in the legal system.
CSSJ recently announced they were awarded funding for the “We Are Survivors” program. This grant will assist CSSJ in dispersing $100,000 to eight different organizations serving the Central Valley, the Bay Area and Los Angeles to assist survivors of crime and violence with support and services needed to heal from trauma. Tina Rodriguez, CSSJC State Director, said she hopes the film screening encourages Mendota residents to use their voice to advocate for their communities’ needs, no matter what their background is, because their voices do matter.
AMOR is proud to work with organizations like CSSJC and Centro La Familia to serve as a resource for victims and survivors in West Fresno County
